Target Beauty Box Winter 2014 (Naturals Edition)

The theme of this box is "naturals" where all products are full of natural ingredients like fruit oils, tea, and shea butter. A lot of the skincare items are said to be safe for those with sensitive skin and the hair care included in the box promote deep moisturization for hair strands. At the end of this post, I am sharing an exclusive coupon code to get $3 off your next $15 of "Naturals" beauty products from Target.com.

I really thought my Target Winter Beauty Box (Naturals Edition) box was lost somewhere in the US. It shipped the same day as the "Her Edition" of the Winter Target Beauty Box but the tracking number didn't have updates and said "cannot be found" so I was getting worried because there were items in this box I wanted to include as part of my holiday gifts. After waiting what felt like forever, the box arrived a little bit before Christmas.

This is a seasonal subscription box that can be ordered from Target.com but it does sell out quickly!

Total Cost: $5.00 (w/ tax + 5% RedCard discount)
Actual Value: $25.00

1. SoapBox Argan Shampoo (Exclusive to Target)

I never heard of this shampoo before getting it in the Target Winter "Naturals" Beauty Box. It contains Moroccan Argan oil, which not only creates shine but puts nourishment back into hair that has been damaged by heat styling and coloring. The SoapBox brand also makes a donation to a child in need with every SoapBox purchase, which I think is aweome! :) (Details about their charity work at soapboxsoap.com)

2. Skinfix Hand Repair Cream  (Exclusive to Target)

This hand cream contains oatmeals, botanicals, and emollient oils to soothe even the most irritated, dry cracked skin. It is safe for those with eczema. I love that this is fragrance free because when I lived in a winter weather environment, my hands got so dry that I got blisters and any hand cream with fragrances would burn and make things worse. I tried a little bit to moisturize my cuticles and my hands did not feel sticky. I could tell a lot of the hand cream did absorb into the skin but when I touch my hands, they feel a little bit greasy but softer than before.

3. Burt's Bees Facial Wipes

Burt's Bees lip balms are pretty good for a drugstore brand so I thought their face wipes would be great too. However, that was not the case when I used one. My skin type is combination oily and I used one on my face to remove makeup. I felt a huge burning sensation in certain areas of my face like my cheeks and the areas around my lips. The next day those areas had small zits appearing on my face. Not very cute.

When my cousin used it, her skin was fine and no irritation happened. She has a dry to normal skin type depending on the season. So maybe it was just me or it's not good for those with my skin type.

4. SheaMoisture Coconut Hibiscus Smoothie

This was for curly hair types so I planned to give this to a friend when I was ordering the Target Naturals Winter Beauty Box. It smells very nice in the bottle. One of my best friends with curly hair loves SheaMoisture a lot and told me its amazing for taming frizz and leaving hair locks shiny and moisturized for days.

5. Borghese Age Defying Facial Scrub (Exclusive to Target)

This is a skin exfoliator from mid-range beauty brand Borghese. I happened to also receive one of Borghese's products in my December Birchbox. I have tried it once so far and I didn't feel it was too abrasive for my skin and didn't dry it out. I didn't experience shine later in the day for my oily skin type.

6. Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub

Acure Organics products are all formulated free of parabens, sulfates, and phosphates. Their skincare line is made with all natural organic ingredients. I have used other products from Acure Organics in the past and it didn't give me breakouts on my skin or irritation. If I had to choose the best organic skincare line I have tried, Acure Organics would be it.

The exfoliant in this facial scrub is sea kelp, french green clay, and organic lemon peel to purify the skin. The chlorella growth factor and argan stem cell ingredients in this facial scrub are used to help stimulate new skin cell growth while brightening the skin with each use.
