The Evian Brumisateur® (Brew-meez-ah-tour) Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray is a new line of facial mist from the company. For those who haven't used facial mists before, they are a good way to quickly rehydrate your parched skin or can be used to set makeup at the end of applying your look.
I was sent an Evian Brumisateur Facial Spray to try and write an honest review for my readers.
Prior to getting this opportunity, I did not know Evian made a product like this. I mostly just know the company for their spring water. I do like using facial mists in general though because I live in a place that gets hot and humid so my skin gets very thirsty. This is a great way to quickly feel refreshed and moisturized if you cannot rinse your face with cold water.
It is compatible with all skin types including the most sensitive. The mineral water mist is pH balanced with the level of 7.2pH, which is close our body's normal pH levels. This product is free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.
According to Evian, this product is popular in their French market where French women, famous for their beauty savvy, have long depended on the special benefits of Evian Brumisateur as part of their daily skin care regime.
"With each misting, evian® Brumisateur® (Brew-meez-ah-tour) Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray helps hydrate, tone, and soothe all skin types including sensitive skin leaving the skin looking healthy." - from Evian (Youtube Video)
First Impressions
In total, the Evian Facial Spray comes in 3 sizes (1.7 oz - small, 5 oz - medium, 10 oz - large). The one I received from Evian was the medium size 5 oz/150ml spray bottle. This size is able to easily fit inside a gym bag, beach bag, or luggage bag when traveling.
I really like the design of the Evian Facial Spray bottle because it prevents the mineral water from leaking out if you just toss in your bag. The cap for this is very secure so you know it won't de-cap while moving around in a gym bag. The bottle is made of aluminum so it feels very lightweight too.
The Evian Facial Spray can also easily be added to your current skincare and makeup regime and claims to help improve the performance of any skin care or cosmetic products when used with it.
How To Use It
To refresh your skin after a long day from working out at the gym, being out in the sun, or dealing with stress from work, it just takes is a light mist. Softly press down the button to spray once while holding the bottle about 10 inches away from the face. Once the mist sits on the skin, you only have to wait a few seconds for the Evian Facial Spray to absorb into the skin.
All these activities in some way will dry out your skin so by using a facial mist, it can let you feel cool and refreshed as it quickly gives back the moisture your skin lost.
To use it as an extra step for cleansing and toning the face in your skincare regime, you can apply the Evian Facial Spray in the morning and evening. Evian is applied in a soaking spray (spray about 5 inches from the face for about 2 spritzes) after a cleansing routine in order to remove traces of tap water and cleanser while also toning and hydrating. Your face should feel and look liked its drenched in water. When doing this step, it replaces using a toner.
After allowing the unique mineral balance and water to be absorbed for a few moments, pat the excess dry with a cotton pad or face towel then follow up with a moisturizer to seal in the Evian hydration. This leaves skin looking healthy and feeling refreshed.
To use it as an asset to any makeup routine, a light mist will help set your makeup to have a smoother and lasting finish. After applying makeup, hold the canister 9-12 inches from the face, and lightly mist in a circular motion right over makeup.
This helps makeup blend with the skin to give it a more natural look while bringing out more color. This can be done several times during the day to refresh makeup and hydrate the skin without messing up makeup.
A favorite trick among makeup artists, using the Evian Facial Spray to lightly moisten makeup brushes prior to makeup application can give more precise application and blending. For areas of face makeup that accidently applies to thick, you can lightly mist a brush to dilute makeup as well.
Review
I find myself using facial mists the most often on hot days, which is practically year round where I live. Facial mists are a part of my skincare routine to plump up my skin, leaving it looking dewy and supple on days I feel dry or look very tired.
When using the Evian Facial Spray to refresh my skin, it was not sticky at all like other brands of facial sprays I used before. There was no scent and no shimmer sparkles in this formula. The facial spray comes out crystal clear like water. I was glad I didn't have to wait too long for it to absorb into my skin. There is no cooling sensation after spraying it onto your skin like other facial mists.
With my oily skin, I did not experience added shine later in the day after using this and my skin felt smooth, supple, and moisturized. I didn't get any skin irritation like itchiness, redness, or burning sensations from this facial mist. I would describe the formula to be very gentle and light because you don't feel any residue from using this on your skin.
When using the Evian Facial Spray for makeup setting, I sprayed it 10-12 inches from my face and it was a far enough distance that I didn't look drenched in water. I think the spray mechanism used for the bottle is very good and gives the right amount of mist with each spray. The results from using this to set makeup was very smooth and a little dewy once the facial mist absorbed into the skin.
When using the Evian Facial Spray for makeup application, it made blending out the foundation easier when I sprayed some on my makeup brush first. The end result is a natural dewy appearance but not super wet and shiny like some bb creams. If this is the look for want, using the Evian Facial Spray is great.
Final Thoughts:
I would recommend the Evian Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray if it is in your price point. When my bottle runs out, I will probably get the 5 oz or 10 oz size. I think it works effectively and my skin feels nice and refreshed after using it. With it being pH balanced, this can be used by all skin types.

This product sounds great for me! I like to use a spray product like this to freshen up in the mornings. I also like that it tells you about the pH level--more products should do that!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the pH level! Thanks for stopping by Sammi. :)
DeleteThis is a really well written and detailed review! I've heard and read mixed reviews on facial sprays, some says it's amazing, some says it's drying and others claimed it doesn't do anything. I have yet to try it for myself but I like Evian as a brand so I might give this a go.

Really? I couldn't imagine this to be drying. Maybe the climate has an effect on whether it works well or not too. If you try it, let me know if it worked for you. :)
DeleteWow, great review! I 've seen this in sephora but was a little skeptical because Evian is primarily a water company, but the effects of this sound great! I have oily skin as well so I will give this a try!

Haha, I had similar thoughts too but it is really nice and certainly surprised me. :) Thanks for stopping by!

When yours is up let me know. :)!
DeleteThanks for sharing Carol. I love Evian spray, it really takes me back to my childhood in Australia. I used to live in a very humid Asian country so this saved me many times by freshening up!

Thanks for this review!! I have been wanting to try this. Now I thick I will!!
ReplyDeleteI buy the little travel duo of these from Sephora every year. I work outside in the summer & these are a life saver for when you feel like you're starting to melt. Haha. They're refreshing & constantly cold. Nice review!
ReplyDeleteI've seen small size of these being sold near the register at Ulta and always wondered about it. I honestly thought to myself that I wouldn't want to pay money to spray some plain ol' water on my face but I can definitely see the benefits that a product like this could have. My favorite facial spray is Urban Decay's B6 Vitamin infused spray but maybe I'll give this one a try next time. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteWow it look so good, i have sensitive skin and for me it looks so suitable:)))thanks for sharing, i start following you and you can check my blog:) http://cikolataliguzelliknotlari.blogspot.com.tr
ReplyDeleteHow to apply with this product? Is it ok if it's first or after applying make-up before I spray evian? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Christine! Thanks for stopping by to read my post. :) You can use this spray after applying make-up to set it so the make-up will last longer. It's also okay to use it before putting make-up to moisturize your skin too.
