Review: Walmart Beauty Box (Fall 2014)

Walmart issues its own "Beauty Box" every quarter just in time for each season (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) and the cost is only $5 ( $0.00 Samples + $5.00 shipping cost = Advertised as "Free"). I just received my Fall Walmart Beauty Box yesterday after waiting for 2 weeks. I ordered my box on September 4th, which I think is the first day they opened the application period to order their Fall box. 

Total Cost of Box: $5.00

Actual Value of Box: $21.86

Surprised to see that the samples I received did not match with the picture advertised on the website but I am still happy with them. I recommend ordering this box if you can get your hands on one if you like the products because you get about $20 worth of stuff. :D However, I think they organize what goes in in what box by age groups. I think I had to answer a question about my birth date when I signed up. I am in my twenties so if you are too, this might be your box.   From checking around on other blogs, it looks like if you are "older" you will get different items. This box included 2 full size items, 1 perfume sample, 1 peely (cardboard card with peel off foils), 1 packet, 3 sample size tubes. Here are all the items I received with price estimates calculated from Walmart.com unless otherwise noted.

Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant in Completely Clean 1.6oz

This item is included  in everyone's box and this deodorant does work! When you open the Walmart Beauty Box, you are hit with the scent of  "Completely Clean."

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Glossy Lip Balm in 210 Ginger Candy 0.09oz

($6.97 full size 0.09oz)

Lip balms are a must for cold weather, not surprised they added a lippy. I did try this yesterday and I already am turned off by the "taste/smell." Let's just call it very chemical. It also applies very sheer and shiny like a gloss but if your lips are dry, the pinkish nude color just seeps into the crevices. Definitely will need to exfoliate your lips before applying. I would pass on this, there are better lip balms/lip gloss out there in this price range.

Nicki Minaj "Pink Friday" Perfume 0.04 fl oz 

($19.99 full size 0.5 fl oz = $1.59 per 0.04 fl oz)

I really liked the scent of this perfume. It's very sweet and it's the kind of scent that stays with you and will turn heads because it smells so nice. ^^ Not a bad choice for day to day wear.

Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Makeup SPF 20 Foundation ( w/ $2 coupon)

Just in time for my current search of a drugstore foundation that won't leave me shiny. :D 

Looking forward to trying this because its tone correcting and contains titanium dioxide as spf.

 *Note: I couldn't find this foundation on the Walmart website, which is a little strange. I pulled the price from the Neutrogena website. I also checked on Ulta's website and it's $14.99.

Not sure if it will be as good as the Benefit Pore Minimizer.

Covergirl Glowing Nights Glosstinis Nail Polish in #AfterDark 0.11 fl oz

This is the full size polish bottle and it is made pocket size. I would say it is tiny enough to fit anywhere. I love nail polish and I always loved this blue color. I had a different brand of nail polish in this color when I was living in China but I had to throw it away because it went bad. Havn't had the chance to find a replacement and low and behold here it is! ^^ Now just have to hope the consistency is good.

You can never have enough hair care, lol. I always get these things in my subscription boxes for some reason. I am actually looking forward to trying the Dove shampoo and conditioner though because it is designed for flat hair which is one of my hair issues. As for the dry oil, its another thing to add to the hair stuff pile. Seems like the hair care market is really pushing consumers to start using hair oil as part of the hair ritual.
