Model Co Bronzer in Shimmer |
Model Co is an Australian beauty brand and does not test its products on animals. They describe their products as "innovations and smart beauty." The Model Co Bronzer was the first item I ever owned from Model Co receiving it as one of my Birchbox samples from a previous month. The bronzing powder I am reviewing is in the shade of "Shimmer."
"BRONZE SHIMMER is a light-reflecting bronzer that brightens and illuminates the complexion, giving the effect of a natural tan with a hint of shimmer. -- from Model Co (official website)"
Target Skin Types: Suitable for all skin types and tones (according to the Model Co website)

The color of this bronzer is brown with flecks of gold shimmer baked into the cake. I don't wear bronzer too often but recently began practicing contouring. I found that this shade could be used for both purposes. The Model Co Bronzer in Shimmer adds warmth to your skin tone while giving it the right amount of glow for a natural finish. Even though it is called shimmer, this doesn't leave your face sparkling like a disco ball. Once it is on the skin, you can barely see the gold pigments.
The Swatches

I would rate this an overall rating 5 out of 5 in effectiveness. What I love the most about it is it feels weightless while you are wearing it so you forget its there. It is one of the few bronzers out there that does not turn or appear orange throughout the day and there is no caking either on the skin. It is buildable and easy to blend out. In the swatch, I applied about 2 layers over one of my veins so you could see how much coverage it offers. As someone who has oily/combination skin, I didn't feel irritation or added shine after using this product.
The price of this bronzer ranges in the middle compared to other bronzers on the market. If I were to use this all of the time, I would consider purchasing this because it works very well. If you really want a pure matte finish, this bronzer also comes in a "matte" version available on the official website but currently not on Birchbox.
What do you think of the Model Co Bronzer? If you tried it, did you get similar results?

I loved my sample of this bronzer. Actually just purchased a full-size! But I wonder if I need the matte version as well? XD
ReplyDeleteI think you should when you run out again Cathy. haha. XD
DeleteGreat review! I use bronzer all the time (I don't like laying out in the sun or tanning beds) so I will have to check this one out! The color looked great!
